John’s Travels

June 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

A few nights ago John was once again waiting for his truck to get repaired in Wapakoneta Ohio. He and his trainee were in a hotel when some bad weather came through. The hotel staff was running around telling everybody to go to the basement because of a tornado to the west which did some damage in St. Marys Ohio. It stormed some more but nothing happened the rest of the night. His truck was repaired by morning and once again he was out on the road. He is planning to stay out until the family trip to Watoga State Park in West Virginia. This is our yearly get together on Beth’s side of the family.

4 generations of Wood men

June 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Last night our family got together for dinner in Frankenmuth. This was the first time great grandpa, grandpa, dad and son were together. It was an enjoyable time see everybody together laughing and joking with each other. I couldn’t help thinking about mom missing this special occasion but I know she was looking down on us from heaven. Click on the family photos link to see more pictures from dinner.

Babysitting AJ

June 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday we watched AJ for about 5 hours. John and Becca took care of some business, went grocery shopping and then out to dinner. AJ was very good. Grandma bathed him after he filled his diaper and afterwards he fell asleep. He slept in the cradle which great grandpa Withers built for John and Cori. He sure looked comfortable in it and it brought back memories when John and Cori were infants. Check out the family photos to see all the pictures. Also, pictures with AJ, Becca and John.

Father’s Day

June 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

On Sunday we spent the day with Dad at his house. Ron and his family along with our daughter Cori were there. We grilled chicken, brats and hot dogs. It was a very relaxing time and we enjoyed being with dad. Cori watched Ron’s kids while Dad, Ron, Theresa, Beth and I went to Sandusky to see the memorial at the Diamond Trail Park for mom. They have the trees planted but the memorial plaque has not been put up. We went to the cemetery to see the grave site and the head stone. They just layed the foundation for the head stone and should be moving it into place in the next few days. Our plan is to put her ashes at the cemetery around July 4th.

Still no John

June 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

John finally left North Carolina yesterday once his trucking company paid for the repair bills. He is in South Carolina heading to Pennsylvania. He is planning to be home around the middle of next week. This will give him another day home for being out longer. He’ll miss his first father’s day. We’ll just have to get the 4 generations of Wood men together when he’s home.

John still not home!

June 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

John, our son the truck driver, still has not seen his son AJ. He’s currently stuck in North Carolina because of his truck’s broken power steering. He has been dealing with it for 1.5 weeks and this is the third time in the garage. Hopefully this will be the fix and he will be heading home by the weekend. It sure would be nice to have him home for his first fathers day. We can get together and have 4 generations of Wood men.

AJ meets great grandpa

June 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Great grandpa Wood meets Andrew James for the first time at Ron’s house. He held him for a long time and you could tell he wished mom was there too. He struggles at times since mom passed away in February but it’s times like this which help to heal his heart.

Also, we celebrated Joshua’s 9th birthday today. We all met at Ron’s house Sunday afternoon and was surprised by some strong storms later in the day. We survived and Josh opened his gifts. Happy Birthday fella. Click on the photos link to see more pictures from today.
